My Story: Walking with the Way-Maker

My story isn’t just about me. It is about my relationship with God, my Way-Maker. From a young age, God has guided me through many challenges, shaping my heart and my character, building my faith, and helping me grow in wisdom and knowledge to find and live in peace, have purpose, and help others do the same.

My Story & Foundation of Faith

Hi, I’m Tess Voelkel, founder of Feather Lite.

Overcomer is the one word that best describes my life and my work.

Feather Lite was created to help people navigate change with clarity, confidence, and support. I am a mentor and bridge-builder who helps individuals and organizations move forward when things feel heavy, uncertain, or stuck. My role is to help connect the dots, uncover root needs, and walk alongside people as they move from vision to completion.

I am a doer by nature. I work with people helping them overcome obstacles, build strong relationships, and accomplish meaningful goals. Mentorship has been the consistent thread throughout every season of my life, across business, education, healthcare, leadership, and ministry.

I first met God as a young girl through a simple prayer with my grandmother. I was lonely and unsure of where I belonged, but Jesus became my constant friend and guide. From that moment on, God has been my Way-Maker. He has faithfully and constantly been in every season of my life.

God has shaped my confidence, transforming low self-worth into a deep understanding of my value and purpose. He has taught me to trust Him with my decisions, my time, my finances, and my future. Over the years, I’ve learned to trade anxiety for peace, control for trust, and worry for right priorities.

Even in seasons when I chose my own path, God was there, reaching out to me, to redirect my life path and realign me. One of the important and missed truths for many is that God truly is compassionate to forgive and does not condemn because of the blood shed by his son Jesus, which covers us when we repent and turn to realign with God. He showed me that nothing is wasted, not even the mistakes! He can bring good from every situation and use every experience for growth.

Lessons in Trust & Growth

Through my journey, God helped me recognize and release unhealthy coping habits and taught me that I am not meant to carry life’s burdens alone. True freedom, I’ve learned, comes from letting God lead. Planning is good, but only when God is part of the plan. When I release control and trust Him, clarity and peace follow.

At pivotal moments, God placed mentors, coaches, and support in my life. Their guidance changed everything for me and today, it is my joy to offer that same encouragement to others.

Why Feather Lite Exists

Feather Lite is the culmination of more than 50 years of growth, learning, mentoring, and faith. It reflects both my professional experience and my personal journey with God.

My desire and “calling” is to walk alongside people through change, lightening the load, offering wisdom, and helping them move forward with purpose and peace. I mentor from lived experience, grounded faith, and a deep belief that transformation is what life is about.

If you’re seeking clarity, direction, or support, you don’t have to walk it alone. In fact great strength is added to your life when you have support. I would be honored to walk with you.
